ENIRO EXPANDS NORDIC COOPERATION WITH BLOM

Eniro, which owns the webpages "Gule Sider" in Norway, Eniro in Sweden, and Eniro in Finland, have now licensed oblique data from Bloms's database for a total of 36 cities/municipalities in Norway, 34 cities/municipalities in Sweden and 13 cities/municipalities in Finland.

REPORT 2ND QUARTER AND 1ST HALF 2008 - HIGHER REVENUES AND EARNINGS

Blom reports good organic growth with over 30 per cent higher revenues than in the first half of 2007. The 2nd quarter showed revenues of NOK 241 million, compared with NOK 202 million for the corresponding period last year. The EBITDA is NOK 49.8 million, compared with NOK 42.6 million in the 2nd quarter of 2007. This corresponds to an EBITDA margin of 20.6 per cent.

Blom shows strong growth and envisions a continued good outlook in the mapping and modelling segments. Blom also experiences a high level of interest and activity in navigation and 3D models and oblique photos in particular, where the company is participating in a number of talks on cooperation. The company is experiencing that the use of photos and 3D models in navigation is new and the
negotiations and testing with customers is taking somewhat longer than previously expected.

Highlights in 2nd quarter

Blom continues and expands its cooperation with Microsoft. Blom expects deliveries valued at NOK 200 million up to the end of 2010.

Blom signed a long-term agreement with ImageTree concerning the right to use Blom`s patented technology (Lidar).

Enter into a contract in launching of navigator in Finland with Blom`s unique navigation solution 3DPhotoNav®.

Blom enters into a three-year framework agreement with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to survey the US coastline.

Blom launches Geoserver - Urban Explorer.

Signed a contract valued at NOK 64 million with the Spanish Armed Forces.

BLOM AWARDED EUR 1.5 MILL CONTRACT WITH ANDALUCIAN WATER AGENCY

Andalucian Water Agency (Spain) has awarded a contract of EUR 1.5 million to Blom. The contract will be completed within end of 1st quarter 2009. The project includes the data and image collection with both LiDAR and digital camera of river basins in the Andalucia Province to obtain a terrain and surface model. The terrain model will be used to estimate and predict the risk of flooding in those areas.

The project meets the requirements of the European Directive of Evaluation and Management of flood risks. Blom expects significant further growth within environmental modelling and monitoring. In February 2008 Blom was awarded a similar contract for estimation of flooding risk in Italy.

BLOM AWARDED EUR 8 MILLION CONTRACT

In cooperation with Telefonica, one of the world`s leading telecom operators, Blom has won the tender for EUR 14 million contract with the Spanish Department of Defense. Blom expects the contract to have a value to Blom of EUR 8 million.

The contract involves mapping production and the creation of seamless data model including aerial and satellite imagery. The work will be started in 4th quarter 2008. The contract is expected to be formalized in a final agreement in October 2008.

Blom is thrilled to have been awarded this defense contract and that Telefonica and Blom by this expand its cooperation. Blom has great expectations for being awarded further defense contracts.

I samarbejde med Telefonica, et af verdens førende telecom selskaber, har Blom vundet en kontrakt på 14 mill. EUR med det spanske forsvar. Bloms andel forventes at være 8 mill. EUR.

Kontrakten omfatter produktion af kort og en sømløs højdemodel, baseret på satellitbilleder og flyvefotos.

Projektstart vil være i 4. kvartal og kontrakten forventes at blive formaliseret i oktober 2008.

BLOM SIGNS THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT IN US

Blom has signed a three-year framework agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for US coastal mapping activities.

Blom partners with 3001 for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) three-year framework agreement for bathymetric and topographic LiDAR for U.S.
coastal mapping activities. Blom estimates that the framework agreement will be worth over USD 6 million in total for Blom. This is the largest contract ever awarded to Blom within the new business line of bathymetric and topographic LiDAR.

Blom Aerofilms, Blom`s subsidiary in UK, will work in conjunction with prime contractor 3001 and other team members to support the USACE Mobile District for this U.S.-wide program. The framework agreement begins October 2008 and runs for 3 years.

The program requires the capture and processing of bathymetric and topographic LiDAR data along the U.S. coastline (including the Great Lakes) and its territories. The extent of coverage will be 1 km offshore of the coastline for bathymetric data and 500 m onshore of the coastline for topographic data. Additionally, higher resolution data capture and processing at federal project sites, such as
breakwaters and harbours will be required. The processed data will be used to provide a seamless digital terrain model (DTM) from onshore and offshore data.

`The Blom-3001 partnership continues to gain momentum. We are excited about this next step for our two companies,` said Jay Arnold, Vice President of Business Development for 3001.

The results of last year`s successful trial in Florida for the USACE were presented at the 9th Annual Coastal Mapping and Charting Technical
Workshop in San Francisco in 2008. This confirms the acceptance of the Hawkeye II technology by one of the world`s leading customers of bathymetric LiDAR and reinforces Blom`s investment in Hawkeye II.

`We feel very privileged to be awarded this framework` said David Critchley, Managing Director at Blom Aerofilms. `This is a major step for the bathymetric LiDAR team who have worked very hard in making this a successful service within Blom.`

The coastal mapping program is supported by the Joint Airborne LiDAR Bathymetry Technical Center of Expertise (JALBTCX) which is formed by a number of U.S. agencies including the USACE Mobile District. JALBTCX coordinates the data capture and processing of LiDAR data for the USACE National Coastal Mapping Program.

The new bathymetric LiDAR capability of Blom provides a unique selling point for the group. The technology allows the seamless mapping of the sea bed and the coastline by simultaneously capturing bathymetric and topographic LiDAR. In addition, digital imagery is also simultaneously captured providing 20 cm pixel ortho-rectified mosaics. The Hawkeye II system also boasts the ability to
capture 4 times more data than other bathymetric LiDAR systems, thus providing higher sounding density and reduced post spacing distance.

LEADING FINNISH ELECTRONICS STORE LAUNCHES NAVIGATOR WITH BLOM'S UNIQUE NAVIGATION SOLUTION

Together with one of Finland’s largest electronics stores, Verkkokauppa.com, Blom has developed a navigation solution for the Finnish market. The navigators include Blom’s unique 3D Photonav® solution, enabling navigation in oblique aerial imagery. – This marks another milepost on our way to building a strong presence for Blom´s navigation solutions in the European consumer market, says Håkon Jacobsen CEO for Blom.

Blom has captured oblique aerial photos of the 16 largest cities in Finland. These photos will now be included in the new navigation solution that Blom has developed in cooperation with the leading Finnish technology store Verkkokauppa.com.

The solution is based on Blom´s unique 3D PhotoNav® navigation software, and employs Blom´s unique database of oblique aerial photos. Compared to the other navigation solutions on the Finnish market, which only provide the opportunity to navigate with traditional maps, Blom and Verkkokauppa.com´s solution enables navigation by means of detailed, oblique photos of the user´s current location.

Blom signs 12-year agreement with American company

Blom has signed an agreement with North American company ImageTree Corporation, giving ImageTree the rights to use Blom’s patented technology for airborne laser in forestland management. The agreement has a 12-year duration. – The agreement further solidifies our position on the American market, says Jan Bistrøm, Managing Director of Blom Kartta OY (Blom’s subsidiary in Finland).

ImageTree is a North American company specializing in assessment of forest assets. Under the agreement ImageTree will get the rights to use Blom’s patented technology (Lidar) in forestland management in North America. The agreement will be in effect for a period of 12 years.

– This agreement further strengthens Blom’s position on the American market. What is more, our customers in Europe and the rest of the world will benefit from the valuable build-up of competence that will be the certain result of a long-term partnership with a company such as ImageTree, Mr. Bistrøm states.

Airborne laser technology is employed to aerially collect topographical data, and will be a central part of the technological platform that forms the basis of ImageTree’s services. The services comprise amongst other things accurate and cost effective analysis of forest volumes, in addition to assessment of carbon sequestration. ImageTree provides these services to forest owners, investment companies, and companies compiling statistics on biomass.

– With this agreement we are solidifying a long-lasting relationship with a true leader in topographical data collection and geographical data processing. Vores projektledergruppe, der består af et ungt team af ingeniører, landinspektører, geografer og geologer, har brug for en ingeniør, landinspektør eller lignende, som skal indgå i udviklingsopgaver samt eventuelt faglig support og kundekontakt. Vi udvikler og fremstiller mange slags digitale geodataprodukter, herunder 3D bymodeller, laserscanningsmodeller, avancerede visualiseringer, luftbårne billedkoncepter m.m.. Der arbejdes på såvel danske som udenlandske opgaver.

Vi forestiller os, at den nye medarbejder skal hjælpe os med produktudvikling, softwareudvikling, optimering af teknologien og projektledelse. BlomInfo og Scankort indgår kontrakt med Ministeriet for Fødevarer, Landbrug og Fiskeri

BlomInfo A/S og Scankort A/S har i fællesskab vundet udbuddet om levering af digitale ortofotos til Ministeriet for Fødevarer, Landbrug og Fiskeri. De digitale ortofotos skal bl.a. anvendes i forbindelse med varetagelsen af ministeriets myndighedsopgaver, herunder administration af arealbaserede støtteordninger, hvor de enkelte markers beliggenhed og størrelse skal indtegnes på ortofotos af støtteansøgere (landmænd).

Kontrakten omfatter levering af sømløse digitale ortofotos dækkende hele Danmark, ca. 43.000 km2, i henholdsvis 2008 og i 2010 med mulighed for yderligere forlængelse. Endvidere forventes Konsortiet at skulle varetage printning af markkort, der skal udsendes til landmændene. Kontrakten indeholder desuden en række optioner som ministeriet kan bestille efter ønske og behov.

Grundlaget for leverancen er de landsdækkende digitale ortofotos i 20 cm opløsning, som BlomInfo og Scankort er gået sammen om at producere.

De to firmaer har udover kontrakten med Ministeriet for Fødevarer, Landbrug og Fiskeri allerede indgået aftaler med flere andre kunder om levering af landsdækkende digitale ortofotos i 2008. Desuden har mange kommuner taget positivt imod de nye digitale ortofotos i hhv. 20 cm for landområder og 10 cm i byområder – produkter der er i fuld overensstemmelse med ortofotospecifikationerne i Geoforums vejledning ”ORTO 2004”.

29. maj fejrede BlomInfo jubilæet med en reception på DAC (Dansk Arkitektur Center), et spændende foredrag om Havnen og en guidet sejltur i den sydlige del af Københavns Havn.

Rigtig mange kunder, forretningsforbindelser og venner af firmaet var med til at gøre dagen festlig. Det er vi meget glade for.

I forbindelse med jubilæet har vi lavet en oversigt over nogle af de mange tusind projekter BlomInfo har gennemført i de forgangne 10 år. Projekterne spænder fra traditionelle kortlægningsopgaver, konvertering af ledningsplaner for forsyningsvirksomheder, over sofwareudvikling, udenlandske konsulentopgaver til etablering af landsdækkende højdemodel, ortofotos og 3D bymodeller.

Blom increases cooperation with Microsoft

In 2006 Blom announced a 5-year agreement with Microsoft Corp. regarding use of Blom’s oblique image database for all cities with more than 50 000 inhabitants in 23 European countries, i.e. approximately 1 000 cities. These images can be viewed on Microsoft’s Live Search Maps site, http://maps.live.com.

The initial capturing of the database is in the final stage of completion. In order to ensure that the database is always updated, Blom will regularly capture images of the areas in the 23 countries. Furthermore, Blom has decided to expand the database of oblique images to 20 countries in the eastern part of Europe.

As part of Microsoft’s 5-year commitment, Microsoft will be consuming portions of the updated and additional imagery as it is made available by Blom. This will be formalized in an agreement between Microsoft and Blom.

Blom expects the delivery of updates and additional imagery to have a total value of NOK 200 million the next two years.

Blom is thrilled that Microsoft has decided to expand the extent of its cooperation.

Blom’s database is the largest uniform database of its kind. Blom believes the database could form the basis for future web-based solutions as well as future solutions within navigation and location based services to the fast growing market for mobile phones and other handheld wireless terminals.

SE DE FØRSTE DIGITALE FLYBILLEDER ONLINE ALLEREDE I DAG

BlomInfo er i fuld gang med at producere landsdækkende ortofotos i 20 cm pixelopløsning og byortofotos i 10 cm pixel opløsning. Allerede nu er der mulighed for at se flyfotos af en række områder i Danmark. Som en ekstra unik mulighed kan brugerne straks får gavn af de nye optagelser ved at hente billederne via WMS. Det vil sige at alle meget nemt kan få adgang fra alle gængse desktop og webGIS allerede i dag.
